Pretty good Korean BBQ however I was a little disappointed that there was no air control for the coals to control cooking temperature. I visited with a friend and we ordered the Wagyu platter and a chicken dish. We also ordered some additional Wagyu beef which was recommended by the staff but definitely not needed given the amount we had already ordered. Would definitely recommend visiting but make sure you book early for dinner as the kitchen closes quite early if you want to order additional items.
Modern Korean bbq on offer here - see the picture of the banchan, for example. Price increase comes with the format.
Sides and lettuce refills are not free, which is not typical of Korean restaurants (in Korea, at least) - is this a sign of the times? Or perhaps because they've tried to elevate the dishes?
Either way, I'd prefer a more typical assortment of banchans for my kbbq. And overall, while there are no real wow factors here, it's good quality Korean bbq.
Great Korean restaurant. Food is fantastic. The wagyu bbq, which it is known for, is top notch. The kimchi and other side dishes were also lovely. Their soy salmon bibimbap was delicious and novel (I haven’t encountered it before and I eat quite a bit of Korean food) Lovely date restaurant and also good for a casual night out. Service is excellent and our waitress helped instruct us on how to cook our meat to bring out the best.
Had an amazing experience at the The Tasty Hill! The wagyu beef was perfection and melted in my mouth. The flavors were exceptional, and the service was top-notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Korean cuisine. 10/10, will definitely be back!
It was a friendly and atmospheric dinner. The quality of the meat is so good and all the food is perfect.
The kimchi and side dishes made by the chef were fantastic, and the meat melted gently in the mouth. It's a restaurant I want to recommend to my friends.
Excellent, fresh, high quality meats, and generous portions. Very nice presentation of food and interior decor. Very warm service. We tried the wagyu platter and pork jowl. Completely mouthwatering. Also I've never seen the Korean side dishes served so creatively. Feels so new and like everything is still being trialled, so probably expect changes to the dishes in the pictures. We were given some experimental dishes and bribed with free wine :D The chef even came out to ask how everything was. Great start for this new restaurant!
Coming from the suburb in Sydney known for korean food (Strathfield) and have had multiple KBBQ in seoul, I can say in confidence that this shop is better than anything you could find in Sydney and is as good as you would get from Korea!
Gorgeous interior, amazing staff, quality meats and absolutely delicious sides and mains. Beef bulgogi is a must get if you don't feel like doing BBQ on some days.
The grill is set up with pre-heated charcoals rather than charcoal with gas fire underneath, what it should always be.
The only thing to note is that it does not have free refills of rice or sides, but we didn't need them as we are already so full for all the delicious meats we are having.
Would be the first shop I visit when I come to Canberra again
Finally, I got a quality BBQ in Canberra CBD. The meat is fresh and the side dishes are worth your try, especially the kimchi. The place is clean and organised, the staffs are friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend this place, defo will come back when I am in the area. Would like to support those amazing businesses 🤙🤙
